European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen delivered her State of the Union address before the European Parliament in Strasbourg, presenting the bloc's roadmap and priorities for the upcoming year while reviewing the past twelve months. During her address, von der Leyen expressed regret over the divisions among European Union member states regarding their stance on the Middle East, specifically concerning Gaza and Cisjordania, stating that this disunity pains Europeans.

Among the attendees present for the address were Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, a young Ukrainian girl who lost a leg in a Russian attack, and two entrepreneurs who met through the Erasmus program.
