Why information officer kept camera rolling even as he fled B.C. wildfire with family

At approximately 1:40 a.m. on Saturday, Erick Thompson, an information officer, made the decision to flee his home in Summerland, British Columbia, as a rapidly approaching wildfire threatened his family.

Despite the emergency evacuation, Thompson chose to keep his camera rolling to document the escape, capturing footage of the chaotic flight from the disaster zone.
