The Panamanian government has announced that it does not plan to submit a bill in the short term to the National Assembly that would apply a 7% tax on purchases made through digital platforms.

Felipe Chapman, the Minister of Economy and Finances, made the announcement in response to public uncertainty and a lack of clarity surrounding the proposed fiscal initiative.
