Five years, 18 versions and a novel that “cannot be exhausted in one reading”: this is how the screenwriters of ‘One Hundred Years of Solitude’ worked

Writers Natalia Santa and Camila Brugés have spent more than five years developing the script for Netflix's upcoming adaptation of Gabriel García Márquez’s celebrated novel, *Cien años de soledad*. The creative process involved producing 18 different versions of the screenplay, immersing the writers deeply in the fictional world of Macondo.

Separately, author and historical researcher Marcelo Larraquy has shifted to fiction with his new novel, *Gordon el Aniquilador*. The book blends real historical events from 1970s Argentina with imaginative elements, and is slated to be adapted into a Netflix production starring actor Rodrigo de la Serna.
