Women over 90 have almost twice the risk of dementia compared to men, warns a study.

A recent study has warned that women over the age of 90 face nearly double the risk of developing dementia compared to men of the same age group. The findings highlight significant demographic disparities in cognitive decline among the oldest old.

Contextually, the World Health Organization estimates that approximately 57 million people globally live with dementia, accompanied by roughly 10 million new diagnoses annually. Within these global figures, Alzheimer's disease accounts for between 60% of all cases.
