Tourism operator liquidated over $1m unpaid tax debt

Sand Safaris 2014 Ltd, a tourism operator, was placed into liquidation following a High Court hearing in Whangārei on Monday. The court action was initiated due to the company’s failure to settle an outstanding tax debt exceeding $1 million.

The liquidation marks the end of operations for the entity, which had faced legal pressure regarding its financial obligations to the Inland Revenue Department. The court-ordered process will now involve an assessment of the company's remaining assets to address the significant tax arrears.
